Hello,
Thank you for your review.
Thunderbolt is mentioned in the product name to make it clear that the docking station can also work over Thunderbolt.
On our homepage i - tec . pro we clearly state in the specifications which technology the docking station works on.
I will see what we can do about product description here.
Regarding the performance issue:
This heavily depends on the notebook's capabilities, especially when it comes to CPU.
If your notebook has Thunderbolt or USB-C with DisplayPort Alt. Mode feature, please contact us at support @ itecproduct . com and we will recommend you a docking station working on different technology.
Best Regards,
i-tec Team
Dear i-tec support
I must say that when I bought the Dock was mislead by the product description, exactly on YOUR product page. :
- The use of "Thunderbolt 3" in the title of the dock suggests it might support the Thunderbolt 3 standard, which it clearly does not. It's the other way round: TB 3.0 supports the USB standards.
- Furthermore, it states "2x DisplayPort and 2x HDMI supporting up to dual 4K/60Hz displays", while "DisplayLink" is not mentioned anywhere: as a customer I have the idea that I get 2 fully functional DP ports!
- The use of both USB 3.0 and USB 3.1 on the packaging and product leaflet, would suggest it at least supports SuperSpeedPlus, at 10Gbps, which it does not.
- It even says on your product page, below the image of two monitors: "And of course, you can enjoy truly smooth video thanks to high refresh rate of 60 Hz." I'm sorry, this is a plain lie!
Please tell your marketing team that ambiguous or misleading information breaks the trust in your brand. I have other i-tec products which I'm happy with but I don't like to be mislead.
