We have been using the toothbrush for 2 years. It is VERY strange that the toothbrush breaks shortly after the warranty period has expired. Unfortunately, this is not the first time that Philips dental care devices have broken after the warranty period has expired - we had two other oral irrigators that also lasted a maximum of 2 years.
In general - great device, but short-lived.

Purchase 2016: I give 5 stars for the cleaning performance. I now only go to the DH every 14 months, previously every 6 months. Unfortunately, after 8 months, I already had to send the handpiece in because the switch-on button is stuck, the battery power has also already decreased massively; February 2018 - I already had to send the handpiece in again for repair, the switch-on button is stuck again. Received new handset free of charge, October 2018 button is stuck. May 2019 In the meantime, thanks to Youtube, I have found a solution for the stuck power button. It is not the bad construction but the paste. If the button starts to jam, I put the hand part in warm water and the paste comes off. Dry the part well. After that, the handset works like it did on the first day. Now I can give it 5 stars.

Cleans well, my DH confirms this annually. I bought two, one is already defective. After a little more than two years.
Update 5/6/2019.
If I had looked more closely at the invoice, it would have been a normal warranty replacement. However, Philips was very accommodating and sent me a new handset despite it being two weeks after expiry. Many thanks at this point.
I have been using Philips sonic toothbrushes for 20 years and this is only the first time that such a part has broken. From that point of view, they have earned 5 stars.
