The Createx Illustration ColorsTM are newly developed, refined water-based airbrush paints optimized for the use of Dru Blair's "Color Buffer System". The illustration colours allow very fine detail work.
They are removable, can be moistened again and are very suitable for erasing. The illustration colours have been developed and optimised for fine art artists and illustrators without relying on highly opaque basic colours. The Createx Illustration ColorsTM are lightfast. The same high quality pigments are used as for the Wicked ColorsTM and the AutoAir ColorsTM. The decisive difference lies in the resin used. The illustration inks do not dry to a hard, insoluble surface layer, but can be dissolved again with the help of ammoniacal glass cleaner. Another important property of the resin is its good erasability, so that only as much is erased as the artist intended. The illustration inks are very easy to remove compared to the very elastic and resistant Wicked ColorsTM. Createx Illustration Colors can be used undiluted. They can also be sprayed directly from the bottle through small nozzles from 0.15 mm at low pressure. In contrast to the Wicked Colors, Wicked Detail Colors and Auto Air Colors, which can also be applied with spray guns, the illustration inks were developed only for airbrush devices. They are not suitable as a primer. The Createx Illustration Reducer (thinner with drying acceleration) and the Createx Illustration Transparent Base (thinner or colour without pigments) allow the illustrator to dilute the illustration colours as desired and to make them even more transparent according to personal preferences. Most artists will be able to work well with the undiluted paint from the bottle. Delayed cross linking: This feature makes Createx Illustration Colors unique compared to other airbrush inks. It allows the artist to edit the color at different times of curing. During the slow hardening of the ink, the degree of hardness also changes. Immediately after spraying on the paint, it can be easily erased or removed with another tool, then the paint slowly becomes more resistant and a variety of artistic effects can be achieved. For the use of a clear lacquer we recommend a urethane clear lacquer. The illustration colours also work very well as candy colours in the custom painting area with an airbrush device. Due to the very low viscosity of the paints, spray guns do not produce a satisfactory spray pattern.
