2. Kirschen Drawknife

Curved draw knife with 2 wooden handles. Draw knives are versatile tools, for example, for debarking logs or for finishing and adjusting squared timbers and beams during renovations. The draw knife is used by pulling and should never be pushed. If the draw knife gets stuck in the wood, please pull the knife backward out of the cut. The Kirschen draw knives have a blade thickness of 4 to 4.5 mm at the bevel edge and are standardly delivered with a cutting angle of 25° for soft to medium-hard wood. For hard and coarse wood, the angle should be adjusted up to 35°.

3. Kirschen set of scraper blades

Set of scraper blades with scraper steel, 4 pieces. Includes scraper blade angular (150 x 60 x 0.8 mm), hollow and round (0.8 mm), swan neck (0.8 mm), and scraper steel round with wooden handle. Total length is 120 mm, packaged in a suede leather case.

4. Kirschen Scraper

Pull blade, angular, in special quality. Despite the widespread use of sandpaper, pull blades remain a useful and effective tool for fine shaving of shavings, removing old layers of paint and polish, and last but not least, for cleaning dirty surfaces.

5. Kirschen Carving knife set

Set of carving knives in a suede leather pouch, 3 pieces, consisting of a carving knife with a double-sided, curved edge, a small blade with a slanted edge for inlays, and a straight edge with a rounded neck. All knives feature a hornbeam handle and are made from special carbon steel. They have a hardness of 59 - 61 HRc and come pre-sharpened. Before the first use, they should be honed with a whetstone to achieve their final sharpness. Our tools are made from carbon tool steel and not from stainless material, which means they are naturally prone to corrosion. Corrosion can occur due to hand perspiration or fluctuations in humidity. For this reason, we recommend that all customers clean the tools after use or during storage with a lightly oiled cloth. This thin film of oil can help prevent corrosion.

6. Kirschen Chisel white beech handle

Cherry Chisel

The chisel is short, lightweight, and conforms to DIN 5139 with side bevels. It features a flattened beechwood handle.

Our chisels (carving tools,
chisels) are hand-forged from a special tool steel. The forging process further improves the material structure of the Cherry chisels. The heat treatment in a salt bath achieves a hardness of ± HRc 61 across the entire usable length of the blade, significantly exceeding the requirements of the German DIN. A self-developed polishing technique ensures a scratch-free surface, allowing for a smooth cut and easier penetration into the wood. Our chisels are factory-made with a cutting angle of 25°, which is excellent for soft to medium-hard woods. However, before the chisels are used for the first time, they should be worked on with a sharpening stone to make the edge razor-sharp. To work successfully with the chisel for many years, we recommend cleaning the tool with a lightly oiled cloth after each use. The oil film applied in this way protects the chisel from moisture and thus from rust. This significantly extends the lifespan and enjoyment of the tool.
