Unic-Cast is a whitish, solvent-free and environmentally friendly casting compound. The system consists of two components: a mineral powder and a water-based acrylic compound. Both products must be mixed well in the specified ratio. The material can then be worked for 10 to 20 minutes. After 60 to 120 minutes, the casting compound is completely hardened. The product is also suitable for children under the supervision of an adult, although care should be taken to ensure that the raw material is not put in the mouth. It is usually cast in silicone moulds. The mass can be coloured with our colours and gold foils as desired.

Instructions for use | Mix, colour, allow to harden 1) The system consists of 2 components, a mineral powder and a water-based acrylic compound, the Activator. Shake Activator before use. 2) Both products must be mixed well in the correct quantity using the scales: Mixing ratio (weight): 100 parts Activator / 250 parts mineral powder Example: 100 g Activator to 250 g mineral powder You can use a plastic cup and a wooden spatula, for example. Mix slowly and carefully for 2-3 minutes. Mix thoroughly and intensively with the stirring rod, including the edges. Any remaining lumps indicate insufficient mixing. It is possible to add up to 5 % water to optimise the flow properties. 3) Once the mixture has a creamy consistency, it can be easily coloured. Mica or shards as well as cotton flakes can be added. Maximum dosing quantity of additives: 10 % dry colour pigments, 3 % colour pastes, 3 % cotton flakes 4) The mass can now be poured into e.g. silicone moulds. Allow 10-20 minutes for this. After this, the mass becomes increasingly thicker and hardens. The silicone mould should be clean and degreased. 5) The mass in the mould must harden for approx. 60-120 minutes. It will become slightly warm in the process. The surface then feels a little like cement and can be removed from the mould. To ensure proper drying, we recommend demoulding the objects as soon as they have reached their initial strength. Leaving them in the mould for too long can lead to pockets of liquid and thus to an inhomogeneous appearance. Attention, small fine objects are easily brittle, remove carefully. 6) Now you have the option of further processing the moulding. The surface can be sealed, or cotton tufts can usually be brought out again by sanding with sandpaper. And the piece is finished! Let your creativity run wild! |
