Device super. But power cord was not included by Digitec....

The soldering station is great and a Weller in this quality at the price is hammer. It's just a shame that Digitec didn't include a proper power cable.... Is eigntlich duty. As delivered, the station is not usable ...

Good soldering station, but plastic housing has horrible vapors

For me, actually the perfect soldering station for my hobby area (electronic components, circuit boards, cables). The temperature display as measured at the soldering tip, must be readjusted about 20°C, but goes quickly and easily in the settings. Otherwise, easy, fast, accurate handling.
BUT: The plastic nozzle has a strong chemical, lasting odor! None of my various other devices smells anywhere near as penetrating (also none of the cheap China devices).

Afterwards: Weller has exchanged the station uncomplicated and fast. The new housing is also not quite odorless, but worlds better. According to information, there has been a batch in which the plastic housing was not completely outgassed.

    Pro

    • Functionally perfect for hobby use
    • Lightweight soldering iron
    • Flexible thin (odourless) silicone cable

    Contra

    • Plastic housing stinks badly

Solid Weller soldering station from the profile line at a low price.

The WE 1010 meets my expectations completely. The soldering iron is pleasantly light and lies well in the hand. The cable that connects the two is also light and very flexible. It hardly bothers me when soldering. The base is very solid and heavy, and the few buttons make it quick and intuitive to use. It is a pity that no temperatures can be saved. But this can be done quickly with the two arrow keys. The heating time to 350°C is quite fast at just under 30 seconds.

Changing soldering tips is easy, even when hot, and the accessory soldering tips (ET series) are inexpensive and available in a wide range. However, I would have liked the soldering tray to have brass wool to wipe off instead of a sponge, as with the more expensive soldering stations from Weller.
The display is not illuminated, but since I don't solder by candlelight, I have no problems reading it. I also like the fact that the current temperature is displayed with large digits.

I cannot understand the criticism about the status of the power switch, which is conveniently located on the front of the unit. When the appliance is switched on, there is a clearly visible red area at the top of the switch. The display is also active.
I can't confirm the much-criticised strong odour either. When I unpacked the unit, I did notice a faint chemical smell, but it was hardly noticeable and quickly disappeared. It is possible that Weller has made improvements here.

CONCLUSION: Weller quality at a low price, I would buy again.
