Nothing escapes the watchful eyes of Dr. Alessi Skud. Better than any Nazgûl, he would have tracked down Frodo and the Ring in the Shire. But when it comes to insectoids, the doctor shows no mercy: with feathery ease he throws himself from his resting place toward the winged foe, until the latter, in an inescapable and pitiful position, perishes in a slapping sound.
Yes, it is even said that - since the doctor has been guarding the sacred walls of our home - far fewer flies and mosquitoes have been sighted. Perhaps they have already been too decimated? But perhaps, and this is what I believe and hope, the tidings of the sinister Alessi with his evil eye have already entered the knowledge of these little fliers. And they announce to their descendants with a warning voice: do not go into this house, because the watchful Alessi rules there and: "Who goes through this gate, let all hope go."
