Product details
Origin
Coffea arabica, often known as Arabica coffee, is a coffee variety that originally comes from the southwestern region of Ethiopia. It belongs to the genus Coffea in the family Rubiaceae. Arabica coffee plants are now cultivated worldwide in areas with an elevation between 800 and 2,200 meters above sea level, particularly in Latin America, East Africa, and Asia.
Characteristics
Coffea arabica is an evergreen shrub that can grow up to 4-5 meters tall. It has oval, glossy leaves and produces white, fragrant flowers. The plant has a complex root system with a main root and several lateral roots. The fruits or beans are oval-shaped, about 1 cm wide, and change color from green to yellow and finally to red or purple when ripe.
Care
Coffea arabica requires bright, indirect light and a constant temperature between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius for growth. The soil should be well-drained, and the plant needs regular watering, although overwatering should be avoided. Weekly feeding with a balanced houseplant fertilizer is beneficial for healthy growth. The plant should be protected from direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
