The saddle is barely padded, the sides are stiff and the lower edge pinches the thigh. The saddle has been replaced with a fat padded well rounded cruiser saddle.
The basket is fixed and not removable, once that rots it will be replaced with a KlickFix model, but probably before that, the Kusnst fabric will look bad before it falls off. Not to mention the crap that accumulates in the basket because passers-by use it as a rubbish bin.
The (final) assembly is pretty simple, you just have to align everything, hook in the front wheel, screw on the pedals the right way round and mount the basket. I think it would have been worth the extra 39 euros to have it done by a mech and have it delivered ready to ride.
The bike is robust and very pleasant to ride for experienced coaster brake riders.
The hub gears are absolutely sufficient for shopping and flatland city biking and can of course also be shifted while stationary.
The light only serves the purpose of being seen at a distance, anything else is illusory with the arrangement on the fork next to the bike, no car driver sees the light when you are close behind him. However, it contributes well to the retro look of the bike.
All in all, I am satisfied.
The bike costs almost twice as much on the manufacturer's website, so that's okay with the aforementioned quirks, and a cruiser saddle like this is fortunately easy to find for little money in matching blue or cream.
EDIT: Bought here for 399.- without it being marked as discounted, or promotion.
