An inexpensive solution to the insufferable heat

Cools down the room to "room temperature" relatively quickly. Gets it to ~22 degrees when it's 27 or so outside; or down to 24 degrees on max power when its 30-32 at daytime and you have the shutters closed. Can't do much more though, probably like any other mobile A/C. Once you turn it on, it sucks the air out of the room to cool it, then sends the hot exhaust outside, creating a vacuum inside the room. Obviously, that "vacuum" cannot occur and the change in pressure is immediately compensated by getting the air back from every possible hole in your house. That include the doors, the ventilation ducts, and even through the holes in the poorly insulated windows. The largest portion, though, comes from the window in which you exhaust the air through the hose, as the window kits still contain large holes for the air to circulate. So the hot air you're trying to get rid of just comes back to your home, along with whatever smells your neighbors pollute the ventilation system with.
Solution? Converting the A/C into a dual-hose system, much like traditional built-in A/Cs (split systems). There are lots of guides on the web showing how to do it properly. The issue with this A/C, however, is that it has not one, but 4 large grills for air intake. This makes the conversion a lot trickier, as having an A/C with 4-5 hoses is not a great solution, neither is sealing the excess grills (might result in overheating and I do not recommend anyone to try if you don't know what you're doing -- I didn't risk myself).

All in all, it's a decent A/C if you just want to drop the temperature by up to 4-5 degrees and make the place livable. If you're interested in something more powerful and efficient and want to convert a mobile A/C to a dual hose system, I suggest looking for something else.

    Pro

    • Good value for the money
    • Gets the room to a livable temperature

    Contra

    • Rather noisy
    • The loud "beep" that you can't turn off
    • Hard to convert to a split system via a second hose

Works very well. Condensation drain a disaster.

The cooling capacity measured directly at the outlet is below 10°C at 26-28°C room temperature. With a better window seal, the device should meet all expectations.
However, whoever designed the water drain so deep on the
device should actually be covered with a paper bag. The manufacturer should offer an optional "elevation kit" for the device. Must now first organize me a bowl that is flat enough so that the condensation can run off, but still has enough volume. If it wasn't such a big logistical hassle, I'd send the unit back.

    Pro

    • Good cooling performance.

    Contra

    • Miserable water drainage
