Julian wants to become a dancer. Far from home, he discovers himself anew in Paris. There, he immerses himself in the world of ballet schools, dance studios, stages, and especially the nightlife. At the same time, his father struggles to reclaim his life at home on the outskirts of the Southern Black Forest, grappling with numerous personal losses and an ever-present loneliness. He is unable to do so until he makes a discovery: a box that belonged to his grandfather first leads him to Paris and eventually to Berlin with his son.
