With a good 8000 works from the Middle Ages to the present, the collection of drawings in the Anhaltische Gemäldegalerie Dessau is of great importance. Nevertheless, only excerpts have been published so far. This selection of 100 master drawings is intended to provide the first opportunity to become acquainted with this collection in all its artistic and thematic breadth. In addition to well-known names, less familiar artists were also deliberately included in the selection with high-quality sheets, and groups of works such as architectural drawings, garden plans and decorative art designs were also included in order to convey the diversity of the collection. The artistic voyage of discovery from the 14th century to the period of Classical Modernism repeatedly offers works - also by prominent hands - that have never been published before.
