Maia oder Als Miss Minton ihr Korsett in den Amazonas warf

A real page-turner for children: The orphaned Maia learns that she is being sent to her only relatives in Brazil. Together with her governess, Miss Minton, Maia embarks on the journey across the ocean. She is filled with excitement about the unknown country and her twin cousins of the same age. However, the girl is bitterly disappointed: the family is dreadful and only takes Maia in because of her wealth. But thanks to Miss Minton and the orphan boy Finn, Maia begins a life full of adventures and dramatic entanglements on the banks of the Amazon.
