Description

A new world of image processing with further improvements in resolution, sensitivity, dynamic range, processing speed and shooting response. αR III offers greater flexibility in capturing brilliant images in any situation thanks to its sturdy, compact housing and professional operation. With this high performance, precision and overall potential, you have the tool to capture irretrievable experiences forever.

Capture scenes down to the smallest detail:
The image processing system has been further developed with regard to high resolution and low noise over a larger ISO range. The camera displays both the mood of the scene environment and the structure of details.

The high-resolution Quad-VGA OLED Tru-Finder provides a natural-looking, high-precision viewfinder image. The functional advantages of EVF, such as high visibility in the dark and AF function when using a larger display, are further optimized for powerful shooting support. Even greater versatility is achieved by the αR III's small, lightweight case, which is sufficiently robust and rigid for demanding use.

Continuous shooting at up to 10 frames per second:
Capture a brief moment with continuous shooting function and up to 10 frames per second with AF/AE tracking. Large data volumes of 42.4 MP maintain high image quality, which is beneficial for your creative cropping.

Record continuous shots absolutely silently:
This camera enables silent shooting at up to 10 frames per second with AF/AE tracking. Noiselessness is crucial when recording wildlife.

Significantly enhanced autofocus performance:
The autofocus performance is improved by the integrated autofocus performance and its optimal application. Thus, when αR III detects a wild animal whose movements are unpredictable, it does not let it out of focus so quickly.

Eye recognition with double motif detection:
In αR III, Eye AF has been further developed with twice faster, more effective eye recognition and capture, even when shooting a motion-intensive portrait subject.

Comprehensive Fast Hybrid AF cover:
399 phase detection auto-focus points covering approximately 68% of the image area width and height, plus 425 densely focused AF points for contrast detection improve the focus that would otherwise not be possible.

Reliable AF up to EV-3 brightness:
Improved AF algorithms contribute to high autofocus precision down to EV-3 levels for more reliable autofocus in scenes in the dark.

No more wasting a moment:
New multifunction selector, AF-ON button and touch focus functions ensure fast and intuitive focus operation. Built-in dual slots and compatibility with the high-capacity NP-FZ100 battery means much fewer interruptions when shooting with αR III because you don't have to change media and battery so often.

Up to 76 images in continuous shooting mode:
Capture up to 76 compressed RAW-16 or JPEG images in burst mode continuous shooting. This allows you to concentrate confidently and without distraction on continuous shooting in burst mode.

ISO light sensitivity (auto)
i

ISO light sensitivity (auto)

The American Standards Association (ASA) and the Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN) film speed standards have been combined into the ISO standards. The current International Standard for measuring the speed of color negative film is ISO 5800:1987 from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Related standards ISO 6:1993 and ISO 2240:2003 define scales for speeds of black-and-white negative film and color reversal film. This system defines both an arithmetic and a logarithmic scale, combining the previously separate ASA and DIN systems.
Commonly, the logarithmic speed is omitted; for example, "ISO 100" denotes ISO 100/21°.

ISO light sensitivity (manual)
i

ISO light sensitivity (manual)

The ISO 5800 standard defines the light sensitivity of film material.
For both scales: the higher the number, the more light-sensitive the film. For linear ASA scaling, a double value corresponds to twice the sensitivity. In the logarithmic DIN scale, an increase of 3° corresponds to a doubling.
In photography, doubling the light sensitivity of the film material means that under given lighting conditions the exposure time can be halved to avoid camera shake or the lens can be closed one f-stop further to achieve a greater depth of field.

Camera lens properties

i

Camera lens properties

A camera lens (also known as photographic lens, objective lens or photographic objective) is an optical lens or assembly of lenses used in conjunction with a camera body and mechanism to make images of objects either on photographic film or on other media capable of storing an image chemically or electronically.
While in principle a simple convex lens will suffice, in practice a compound lens made up of a number of optical lens elements is required to correct (as much as possible) the many optical aberrations that arise. Some aberrations will be present in any lens system. It is the job of the lens designer to balance these out and produce a design that is suitable for photographic use and possibly mass production.
A lens may be permanently fixed to a camera, or it may be interchangeable with lenses of different focal lengths, apertures, and other properties.

Lens mount
i

Lens mount

A lens mount is an interface — mechanical and often also electrical — between a photographic camera body and a lens. It is confined to cameras where the body allows interchangeable lenses, most usually the single lens reflex type or any movie camera of 16 mm or higher gauge. Lens mounts are also used to connect optical components in instrumentation that may not involve a camera, such as the modular components used in optical laboratory prototyping which join via C-mount or T-mount elements.

Electronic displays are available for presentation of visual, tactile and auditory information.

Display size
i

Display size

The size of a display is typically given as the distance between two opposite screen corners. One problem with this method is that it does not distinguish between the aspect ratios of monitors with identical diagonal sizes, in spite of the fact that a shape of a given diagonal span's area decreases as it becomes less square. For example, a 4:3 21" monitor has an area of ~211 square inches, while a 16:9 21" widescreen has an area of only ~188 square inches.

A touchscreen is a display which can detect the presence and location of a touch within the display area. The term generally refers to touch or contact to the display of the device by a finger or hand. Touchscreens can also sense other passive objects, such as a stylus. However, if the object sensed is active, as with a light pen, the term touchscreen is generally not applicable. The ability to interact directly with a display typically indicates the presence of a touchscreen.

In photography, a viewfinder is what the photographer looks through to compose, and in many cases to focus, the picture. Most viewfinders are separate, and suffer parallax, while the single-lens reflex camera lets the viewfinder use the main optical system. Focusing

i

Focusing

In geometrical optics, a focus, also called an image point, is the point where light rays originating from a point on the object converge. Although the focus is conceptually a point, physically the focus has a spatial extent, called the blur circle. This non-ideal focusing may be caused by aberrations of the imaging optics. In the absence of significant aberrations, the smallest possible blur circle is the Airy disc, which is caused by diffraction from the optical system's aperture. Aberrations tend to get worse as the aperture diameter increases, while the Airy circle is smallest for large apertures.

JPEG

In computing, JPEG is a commonly used method of lossy compression for digital photography (image). The degree of compression can be adjusted, allowing a selectable tradeoff between storage size and image quality. JPEG typically achieves 10:1 compression with little perceptible loss in image quality.

JPEG compression is used in a number of image file formats. JPEG/Exif is the most common image format used by digital cameras and other photographic image capture devices; along with JPEG/JFIF, it is the most common format for storing and transmitting photographic images on the World Wide Web. These format variations are often not distinguished, and are simply called JPEG.

RAW support

A camera raw image file contains minimally processed data from the image sensor of either a digital camera, image scanner, or motion picture film scanner. Raw files are named so because they are not yet processed and therefore are not ready to be printed or edited with a bitmap graphics editor. Normally, the image is processed by a raw converter in a wide-gamut internal colorspace where precise adjustments can be made before conversion to a "positive" file format such as TIFF or JPEG for storage, printing, or further manipulation, which often encodes the image in a device-dependent colorspace. There are dozens if not hundreds of raw formats in use by different models of digital equipment (like cameras or film scanners).[1]

Battery-operated

A rechargeable battery or storage battery is a group of one or more electrochemical cells. They are known as secondary cells because their electrochemical reactions are electrically reversible. Rechargeable batteries come in many different shapes and sizes, ranging anything from a button cell to megawatt systems connected to stabilize an electrical distribution network. Several different combinations of chemicals are commonly used, including: lead-acid, nickel cadmium (NiCd), nickel metal hydride (NiMH), lithium ion (Li-ion), and lithium ion polymer (Li-ion polymer).

Rechargeable batteries have lower total cost of use and environmental impact than disposable batteries. Some rechargeable battery types are available in the same sizes as disposable types. Rechargeable batteries have higher initial cost, but can be recharged very cheaply and used many times.

Power supply

A power supply is a device that supplies electrical energy to one or more electric loads. The term is most commonly applied to devices that convert one form of electrical energy to another, though it may also refer to devices that convert another form of energy (e.g., mechanical, chemical, solar) to electrical energy. A regulated power supply is one that controls the output voltage or current to a specific value; the controlled value is held nearly constant despite variations in either load current or the voltage supplied by the power supply's energy source.

Alpha a7R III Body (42MP, 10FPS, Wi-Fi)

Überzeugt in jeder Hinsicht. Der Aufpreis im Vergleich zur A7rII lohnt sich angesichts der zahlreichen Verbesserungen.

Alpha a7R III Body (42MP, 10FPS, Wi-Fi)

Excellent camera

A really really good camera. Performace way beyond expectation. The 42MP allows me to crop parts i do not want to see without any worries of loosing much resolution.
