I use this lens on a Canon 6D and I am really overwhelmed. The sharpness is very good, as is the workmanship. I can only recommend it and would buy it again in a heartbeat. I am very satisfied with it.

    The absolute hammer.
This lens is better than the Canon 50/1.2 L!
The sharpness is something I didn't know from Canon on my 5dmkIII. And I usually only have L lenses.....
The sharpness up to the edges and corners is unbelievable.
The AF works perfectly and is accurate every time, which has to be the case with a 1.4 lens. Contrasts and reproduction are absolutely amazing.
The only thing to be aware of is the weight, but with a pro-body like the 5DmkIII it feels good and ballanced in the hand.

The build quality of the lens is something I have never experienced in the digital world. The lens is carved from solid, like my Leica or Zeiss lenses back then.

    Great fixed focal length

I wanted to buy a 50mm fixed focal length lens, and the Sigma and the Canon 50mm/1.2L were shortlisted. Because of the price I went for the Sigma and I haven't regretted it.
I use it on a Canon 6D mkII and the pictures are
    great.
