If it says Shure SE215 on it, I want SE215 sound quality.

Unfortunately, this Bluetooth headset only uses the SBC codec for audio transmission.

That's why these headphones sound disappointingly
bad. If you plug them into your mobile phone or laptop via cable, they immediately sound tip-top again. If you don't want to dispose of these headphones, you have to go back to the cable connection: https://www.digitec.ch/en/s1/product/shure-rmce-black-127m-kopfhoererkabel-6396747.

This is very disappointing: if it says Shure SE215 on it, I want SE215 sound.

    Contra

    • Only the worst audio codec

    Comfort top, sound flop

After many good reviews I bought this model. The first impression was very good; lots of accessories included (3 pairs of foam and 3 pairs of rubber ear inserts). So far I have only used the foam inserts and find them super comfortable and they shield outside noise very well. When I switched them on, the first disillusionment followed: the audio cues for switching on/battery life etc. were painfully loud. "Oh well" I thought, "will probably just be the volume too high". Wrong: Setting the volume has no effect on the audio cues! So I always have to switch on the headphones before putting them on. Maybe my ears are too sensitive. The next disillusionment: the sound (only tested with iPhone 7P, no access to an Android phone). In contrast to my previous headphones (Sennheiser Momentum In Ear), these sound dull and indifferent. There is hardly any of the advertised bass, the mids and highs sound indistinct. Definitely not what I expected from a reputable brand like Shure. (The biggest drawback of the Sennheisers are the ear inserts, which regardless of size fit poorly and keep slipping out) Sure, you can't expect audiophile sound quality from wireless headphones, but the Sennheisers are miles ahead despite the only slightly higher price.
I'll give the Shure a few more hours of trial. But if the sound doesn't improve dramatically (which would surprise me greatly) I'll return the Shure and just order better ear inserts for the Sennheiser. And yes, I probably should have done that before buying the Shure. But I let myself be tempted by reviews....

High quality sound with excellent Bluetooth communication

Although you have to get used to wearing these ear phones and putting them in takes a bit more time, it's worth the effort: they close off the whole ear, they don't fall out during sporting and the sound quality and bluetooth synchronisation are excellent.

    Pro

    • Connects to multiple devices at the same time.
    • Gives clear messages about connections and battery life.
    • Excellent sound quality.
    • During voice calls and verbal commands, microphone pick up voice very well.

    Contra

    • A bit more difficult to plug them in.
