    Versatile eBook/eNote

    - Have ordered the ReMarkable 2 and this product, will only keep the Onyx as it is more versatile.
    - The Remarkable lacks backlighting, Kindle app and the ability to dictionary.
    - Features are really good, but far from intuitive.
In order to install Google PlayStore (and thus more apps) it needs a factory reset etc. In general, it needs some tutorials on Youtube (not from Onyx but from users), so that you really understand what the part can do everything.
    - UX definitely worse than the ReMarkable and syncing almost always has to be triggered manually.
    - I'm curious if the backup would really work in case of device loss, that's very "clunky".
    - I recommend the Staedtler Noris Digital jumbo, with it can be written much finer, although the currently supplied pen is not bad.

    Perfect e-reader for 2020

I have all type of readers a Kindle, a Sony 13" and an older Onyx reader, the Note Air is the best one of them when it comes to a usable device, it has a perfect reader for PDF with a lot of options to increase the contrast of text, make it bolder and crop the margins to have bigger text, the PDF reader works perfect even for scanned PDFs as it also has image sharpening and contrast control.

As hardware, the screen looks really good with great contrast, the light is good and distributed evenly, also the red shift for night reading is good.

The browser of the device works perfectly too, it eliminates unnecessary styles, increase the contrast and boldness of the text for easier reading, and it can play videos too.

I don't use the device as a note taking tool, but the little I used it, it was really good and responsive, so for small note taking and solving some math as I did on it it's perfect.

    Very good reader, but ...

I'll be honest, the Onyx was not my first choice. The Remarkable 2 had caught my eye a lot more, but the excessive price for a very limited product in its use quickly directed me to ONYX which offers much more features for much less money.
If the tablet is still very beautiful and very functional, its complexity of installation and use quickly becomes annoying and will certainly put off many...
The tablet does the job, it's true and the pen is well in hand. But there are still some unpleasant latencies compared to its competitor.
The pen works quite well and the grip is pleasant, although at the price of this tablet we would have liked to have at least a pen with a virtual eraser on the back, more practical than having to go each time to find the eraser in its menu.
I strongly recommend to buy the protective case, very nice too, because the tablet is still quite fragile and deserves an extra protection and a nice case.
In summary: Nice tablet but a little more simplicity and responsiveness would have been nice. Still, a good investment for the price.
