Mid-range Natel with long battery life & lousy finger sensor

    UPDATE 22.10.2018

Uuuuuand already again disposed of the part! The finger sensor is hilarious, as inaccurate as it works! (Despite several new different fingerprints capture) And since each reading error fully counts kicks
after a few times also the absolutely unnecessary Android 8.1 function to enter the password manually ("For your protection"), and after I've happened a few times, the Natel has not survived a few violent (crashes)... Never mind, I'm back on the road with my old Xiaomi. There are enough cheap Android phones here at Digitec! ;P

    ---

Back from a Xiaomi Mi Max 2... 6.44" is nice for reading and watching videos, but for everyday (business) use this brick is just too big! And interestingly enough, the prices of smaller phones (<5.5") are rising rapidly in some cases. The standard display size currently seems to be 5.9"++, and I didn't want that, so the Nokia came just at the right time.

5.5" display, pure Android, no additional junk on it, therefore quite fast (especially when downloading), although the CPU is not sooo fast... sometimes it's a bit slow, but I don't care, the device is mostly used for business purposes (mail, telephony, ...). Battery lasts several days (at least for me), and updates are always available quickly. (System & Apps)

Of course, nothing works without a Google account... and you have to like it or not. But as long as all the Google spy settings can (still) be deactivated or configured, I have no problem with it...

Conclusion: The device was designed as a mid-range Natel, and that's what it is, no more and no less.

    Pro

    • The "pure" Android... no manufacturer's ballast or other rubbish on it
    • Fast updates

    Contra

    • The "pure" Android... you have to like, and deactivate a lot of Google spy stuff in advance
    • The finger sensor is a joke as inaccurate as it is!!!!
    • The part IS really slow at times, truly a mediocre part....

Solid, but becomes a paperweight due to Android updates

The device has now shot itself down twice with Android security patches and updates and was only usable as a paperweight. You can send the thing in, but of course you lose all the configurations, etc., very tedious.
    Otherwise
a good device, solidly made and beautiful. It doesn't take drops as well as plastic cases, but still much better than glass. Performance is ok but not great, camera is ok at best.

    Pro

    • Well made, beautiful design
    • Performance ok
    • Pure Android without Ghüder
    • Battery life is top

    Contra

    • Android patches and updates paralyse the phone (bootloop in download mode)
    • Not very robust and very slippery
    • Camera mediocre
