Top for applications that do not require a fast connection!

I was able to test the switch through Netgear's Family And Friends programme, for which I would like to thank them.

Like all Netgear products I have had my hands on in recent years, the FS728TP arrived perfectly packaged.
    The
scope of delivery includes German Schuko plugs and probably Anglo-Saxon plugs for the power connection.
Although Netgear itself has made a statement to the contrary, mounting brackets for rack mounting are included.
Also included is an installation CD, which in my opinion is superfluous due to the simple web interface.

Depending on the application, the existing 10/100 ports are sufficient for normal streaming work. If larger amounts of data are to travel through the LAN, there are four gigabit ports that also fulfil their purpose.

The workmanship is of the usual high quality and the packaging is sensible. No tons of plastic and blisters.

I can recommend the switch for a small price to anyone who does not operate high-speed networks!

For the price, this is an absolutely top product which I would use again and again.

    *** Packaging and construction ***
Netgear also thinks about how the products can be packed sensibly and without unnecessary burden on the environment, but still safely. The FS728TP switch is sold in packaging familiar to
Netgear ProSafe products. The carton is made of recycled cardboard, with little printing. The use of plastic is limited to the film that encases the switch. The switch can be removed from the packaging in just a few steps and prepared for use in a rack using the 19'' mounting brackets supplied. In addition to a brief instruction manual and CD, two different power cables are also included in the scope of delivery.
    *** Commissioning ***
The switch can either be connected to the existing network and supplied with an IP address from the existing network or it can be put into operation without any components. For this purpose, a tool is supplied on the CD in which all Netgear switches found in the network are displayed and can be configured. The web interface is intuitively designed, all necessary settings are logically divided into tabs and offer the administrator a maximum of overview.
    *** Special functions ***
In addition to its classic function as a switch, the FS728TP can also serve different networks with additional features (e.g. vLAN). Thanks to the PoE ports, W-Lan devices, telephones or other network components that can use the voltage via the network cable can be connected. Thanks to the fast web interface, it was possible for me to implement all settings in a very short time.
    *** Warranty ***
Netgear offers a lifetime warranty on its ProSafe products. So far, I have not had to send in any devices, so I would absolutely recommend buying one.I would always choose a Netgear product again.Unfortunately, there is a deduction of one star because the PoE ports can only transmit 100mbit.Netgear provided me with the switch free of charge.
