    Top product

Met my expectations 100%. For my field of application in interior design, I would buy the device again at any time! You can also work very well with the keyboard. From a text file to Adobe products to current games, the device has not shown any weaknesses so far. One star is deducted only for the high price!

    Pro

    • Design, performance, multifunctionality, portability
    • Although I am a Wacom lover... the pen or the drawing feeling surprised me positively.

From my point of view, the best all-in-one device you can buy. For me, it combines desktop, laptop and tablet in one device!

Microsoft has made "good" even better! The new pen (not included in the 2nd generation) has become even better with the new display (better pen recognition)! This results in an excellent writing feeling on the device! The performance is also impressive - you won't find anything like it in the 2in1 device sector.

    Pro

    • Performance increase compared to the first generation
    • Display
    • VR suitable

    Contra

    • Price
    • No 15 inch version in Switzerland (why ever, remains probably the secret of Microsoft)

    Disappointing

Unfortunately, the SurfaceBook 2 didn't really convince me, which is why it was returned to Digitec. The device was mainly intended as a development environment (Visual Studio 2017, VMWare, etc.). The performance was not convincing and many small details are just annoying. More in the pros & cons section...

    Pro

    • 3:2 aspect ratio more practical than expected
    • Surface + Surface Pen better than iPad Pro + Pen
    • Keyboard and touchpad are really very good
    • Fan barely audible

    Contra

    • COIL WHINE (Especially when the unit is connected to the power supply)
    • 10 hours update on the first day (Typical Windows ^^)
    • Folding mechanism is much too stiff, even with 2 hands (!) annoying to open
    • Annoying auto-contrast must be deactivated via registry entry
    • Hacky performance (Visual Studio, many tabs in the web browser)
    • Screen is far too reflective (yes, even for a touchscreen)
    • The bottom of the unit has hardly any frictional resistance, so it slips easily.
    • At 2800 CHF, definitely far too expensive for all the contra points.
