Clean assembly, but otherwise not worth the money.

Conclusion: Instead of this product, I recommend a regular small PowerPack and attaching it to the bike frame with adhesive tape. This product is too expensive and has non-standard plugs.

    I have not yet tested a 24-hour
ride, but I am (just) confident.

I can go on long bike rides without the bike computer running out of power: with the external battery connected, I still have 100% charge on the Garmin Edge 1000 after 10 hours of riding, and the external battery still has 2 to 3 of 7 charge levels.

Boundary conditions: With the Garmin Edge 1000 I reliably use 10% per hour (when the external battery is not connected).

The external battery and the plug connections to the Garmin Edge 1000 are rainproof.

Too bad: Because of the USB mini cable, I still have to use an adapter cable from mini to micro.
Caution: Many adapter plugs are too thick for the Garmin Edge 1000 mounted on the stem. The adapter cable from Belkin (10cm long) fits: Belkin USB 2.0 Adapter "USB Mini-B to Micro-USB Adapter".

The mounting on the frame is clean. However, to ensure that the external battery does not slip on the butted frame tube, I have to place a thin anti-slip mat underneath. However, everything is held firmly in place and no retightening is necessary.

    Pro

    • Can be neatly mounted on the bike, an anti-slip mat is required for butted frame tubes.
    • Garmin Edge 1000 after 10h cycling still at 100% charge, external battery at approx. 30%.
    • Withstands the rain.

    Contra

    • Connection to charge the external battery should be USB Micro instead of the hollow plug.
    • Connector to draw power from the external battery should be USB Micro, not USB Mini.
    • Actually too expensive for the small capacity of 2.2Ah, compared to a regular PowerPack.
    • The solar panel is useless, the external battery cannot be (usefully) charged with it.
    • Charge from external battery cannot be read while driving (under the cover).
