    Summary after more than 10 years of use

    Ergonomically absolutely top.

    The first mouse was defective after only 2.5 years. The second mouse has been running perfectly for over 7 years. This mouse is very demanding in strict, daily home office use.

    The workmanship     is not good. On very warm summer days, the hands sweat on the mouse. The materials of the mouse do not absorb moisture. After almost 2 years of use, the surface under the middle of the hand is roughened. At the contact position of the little finger, the surface coating has disappeared and the underlying material layer is visible.

    Works perfectly under Linux. No manual driver installation required with current Linux kernels. Only the thumb keys have no function under Linux in most applications. In the Firefox web browser, the upper thumb key acts with the function "One page back".

    Processing too weak for the price

    I bought the mouse because of problems with my thumb. It fits comfortably in the hand, but relieves the wrist more than the thumb.

    After three years of use, the USB cable now has a loose contact and the surface is worn in     several places. Has never happened to me with cheap mice and with a mouse for over 100.- particularly annoying.

    I find this mouse to be just as awesome as the E...

    I find this mouse just as awesome as the Evoluent Vertical Mouse 3 Rev 2, USB. For me it is out of the question to use another mouse than the EVM for a long time, so I bought a second one.

    EVM4:
    + Better shape -> Provides     better support for the little finger. At first you don't really know where to put it on the EVM3, but you get used to it. Otherwise it is a bit rounder and fits better in the hand.
    + More buttons
    - Under Linux you have to swap some mouse buttons with xmodmap to get the expected function. (Could be the same with Windows without installing drivers).

    EVM3:
    + Looks a bit more normal/classic. The lighting makes the EVM4 look more special. (If you think about it carefully, they both stand out as strange mice for the normal consumer anyway. So this little bit more geekyness doesn't matter anymore).
