    If you can install it in such a way that you can't see it, you've found what you're looking for.

    Works as it should, is neither a bottleneck for USB3.0 nor for eSATA. I have been using it continuously for about 2 years and it has always worked.

    A little choosy

    Since my old MacPro is dying, a MacMini was purchased. Unfortunately, several of the old HD cases only have USB2 but eSATA. The adapter therefore prevents waste and is pretty much halfway between USB2 and USB3 in terms of speed. Compared to the new USB3 enclosures, a little less waste produced but hardly any money saved.
    Caution: The adapter did not work with all of my cases. With two, the connection was very unreliable. One was discarded, the other has USB3, so it's a bit of a lottery. I would only back up ultra-important data with it after a longer test phase. With the third enclosure, it has been working perfectly for a week.

    Alternatively, there's the LaCie eSATA Hub on ThunderBolt, but much more expensive.
