The Dell XPS 15 is a top product. I chose this variant because I don't want to do without a matt display. In terms of design, I really like the mix of aluminium and carbon fibre casing. In terms of performance, this version has a powerful i5-6300HQ processor which is supported by 8GB DDR4 RAM and can complete all my tasks (including video editing) at lightning speed. The storage consists of a 1TB hard drive (SATA III), which is accelerated by a 32GB SSD (m.2) as cache, and thus tries to combine a high capacity with the speed of an SSD. The user only sees the hard disk. Basically, I can say that this combination works really well and you have the feeling of being on the road with an SSD. However, I was somewhat disturbed by the sound of the HDD (rotation and access noise), which is a matter of taste.
It is particularly noteworthy that Dell has managed to put this performance into such a compact and light device and thus, in my opinion, finally compete with the "top dog" Apple.

The best Windows notebook I've had so far!

Very good machine overall, powerful and visually stunning, one of the best windows notebooks. The screen has good colours, excellent contrast, deep black and the maximum brightness is good. However the main fault of the screen (at 0 or 10% brightness) is that it flickers, it's hardly noticeable to the naked eye, but personally I feel nausea (moderate), something that never happened to me before. In addition, my panel has two pixel failures (not very annoying in practice). The fans are almost silent (in gaming, they can quickly become noisy), only the annoying noise of the hard drive will push you to consider investing in a ssd. I would recommend testing the keyboard in shop on the xps 13 (very similar to the xps 15) as some people may find it disappointing, I think this is a very subjective element, it's more a matter of personal preference.
