I have already used several D-Link cameras. This is the first camera that doesn't convince me at all! Only compatible with the new app. Access only possible via this app. Most of the time, access to the camera - live stream - is not possible. Unusable...I hope this is an exception and not all D-Link cameras are suddenly so bad...

purchased this product
can only be operated via smartphone app, no browser setup. This is extremely complex and hardly intuitive to use. There are no instructions for use, neither for the product itself nor for the app. Except for a few short videos on YouTube, which are difficult to follow - not least because of the American English.
Due to the lack of a browser setup, the camera cannot be accessed and configured in a local network, only via the smartphone app.
There are no more email notifications with the serial recordings included. Only video recordings on the D-Link Cloud (chargeable) after an event.
Pan operation is only sporadically responsive.
It remains completely unclear to me with this product for what purpose it was developed. I can hardly call it a surveillance camera.
Unfortunately, important specification details are neither visible on the product page at digitec nor on the manufacturer's homepage, so I have to describe this purchase as "buying a pig in a poke".
Other products from D-Link are better suited as surveillance cameras, such as the DCS-5020 or DCS-5222.

The cam is just sh*****.
First the positive:
- The resolution is OK so far. I would have imagined a worse picture.
- The night vision mode works really well. Even in total darkness, you can still see a lot. That's what I like about the cam.
- The control of the camera is not great. For example, it can happen that when I want to turn the cam slightly to the left, it suddenly turns 20% further than I want.
- The cloud storage is OK, but more of a gimmick. No time lapse, only individual elements (clips) are visible.
Intercom works well so far. Not always very understandable, but it usually does its job.
Negative:
- I have to re-register the thing at least once a month (the last 2 weeks almost daily!!). The cam flashes orange during this time because it has lost the connection. So it has to be reset (reset button) and set up again via the app.
The camera is mounted on the ceiling, so it is always a pleasure to reset it.
- The operation of the app is just bad. Definitely needs a refresher.
- Camera must be restarted at least twice a day during operation, as access via the app is no longer possible (charging indicator appears and nothing happens).
The camera is definitely going away - I'm fed up with the ulcer.
I've always been against D-Link, but I thought, give the cam a chance - never again D-Link!
Absolutely no purchase recommendation from my side.
