I can recommend it to anyone who wants to significantly improve the sound from TV, the quality is Bose typical super

Improves the normal TV sound significantly. The Bluetooth function connects very quickly with the cell phone and thus music can be easily streamed in the living room.

The universal remote control is also a good idea. However,
I only need it to turn on the TV (turns on TV and Solo5 at the same time) then I have Swisscom TV.

The connection cables for the audio signal are about 1.2m long, which should be a bit longer.

Now to the bass, this is well audible but without great pressure. Therefore, I find this product ideal in a multi-family house.

Installation is really easy, just plug in the power cable and audio cable and configure the remote control if necessary according to the instructions.

    Massively below my expectations

I bought the soundbar because of the many positive reviews and must say that I can not understand them. It was connected visually to a Samsung QE55Q6FN, which is a cheap TV. The bass tones are clearly better; the rest is hardly better; the sound is extremely flat. I was most disturbed by the miserable dispersion of the sound. When watching TV, the sound is perceived as merely coming from the speaker exactly; a task that even the built-in TV speakers master much better. The sound experience isn't "immersive" at all, and the tuning isn't a hit either. Yes, you can adjust some things and the 2 LEDs that represent the program settings are sufficient for understanding after some familiarization, but a satisfying result cannot be achieved. The soundbar supports Bluetooth for playing music via cell phone, but to my surprise, a connection via the BOSE Connect app is not possible. This might have allowed for easier setup options as well as firmware updates. Although the soundbar seems relatively long, it only has 2 speakers in the center. The fact that the power supply was not integrated into the bar despite the available space is incomprehensible. The size of the remote control is reminiscent of something from the 90s, although it is well intended as a universal remote control, but I can hardly imagine that anyone really needs it. In terms of sound, you could also connect a UE Boom and perhaps even have a better-tuned sound in terms of quality.

Positive things to mention are of course the compact design, which allows placement under many TV sizes and the price. That's why we still give it 2 stars, since nothing else is available in this price range. Now many report that the soundbar has massively upgraded the sound of their TV. Now I suspect that, no offense, the expectations were either low, or most likely that the TV used had miserable speakers, which is probably not uncommon. In this case, and if the room is relatively small on top of that, satisfactory results can probably be achieved.

As a long-time BOSE fan, I was disappointed to find a comparatively so less perfected product in their lineup and returned it. It was not easy to find a compact replacement without a subwoofer. In the end, I invested a bit more and went for the SONOS Beam. Fair enough, it costs almost twice as much, but delivers excellent sound, various expansion options, app connectivity and expansion options, while being only slightly larger.

I would only recommend the Solo 5 to customers whose TV offers disastrous standard sound and who want to improve on a minimal budget. If the demands are higher, I recommend looking for something else.

    No HDMI

Unfortunately, the lack of an HDMI output makes the soundbar unusable for me. You can't switch it on/off automatically via the TV. You therefore need the huge remote control of the soundbar. You can also set this up for the TV. But I didn't get that far; I exchanged the soundbar for one with CEC/eArc.
