I would go for this headphone again

I have to say, I am really convinced by these headphones.

Until now, I didn't have open headphones, but rather everything that was insulated: in-ears, and closed over-ears (Beyerdynamics DT 770 Pro, Sony MDR-1ABT). That's
why it took some getting used to at first to hear my surroundings with the headphones. I no longer felt so constricted and hardly had any pressure on my ears. I definitely have a "WOW effect".

Now from my new experience to the actual evaluation.

    Sound:
I was very convinced by the open design and the headphones reproduce a clear sound. I turned up the bass a bit to my taste. I hear neither distortion nor overdriving. To make everything sound better, I would clearly need new audio files! :)

    Design:
Black and the cables are matt black. I like it! Above all, I find the inscription "DT 1990 PRO" very nice.

    Workmanship
The headphones are very robust and the workmanship and materials are of a very high quality. Unlike the DT 770 Pro, which I had before (and still have), these feel much better. It is no longer "plastic" but aluminium. The cables are now also interchangeable, I hope the mini XLR connector holds out (although the cable length fits me anyway and doesn't have to be pulled around). The first impression is very solid in any case.

    Wearing comfort
I find it comfortable for 1-2 hours, then it gets a bit too heavy for me. The pads have a lot of pressure, but I think this will change over time, when the pads have been "worn in" a bit, they should become more comfortable. This was also the case with the DT 770 Pro.

I will edit the post as soon as I have used them a bit more in everyday life and there is anything to change.

This is a headphone for the home, for long listening sessions and for people who want to hear their music as it was made without tendencies or inclinations with extreme detail and soundstage.

I am not an audiophile, however I do enjoy listening to music and always use above average equipment. I had Sennheiser, Bose, Steelseries, Logitech headphones and headsets in the medium to higher price segments up to about 350 CHF, until recently I used the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro as my daily driver and was very satisfied for ne while.

    Design:
Very excited and nervous I was when the delivery arrived, like a child for Christmas. I unpacked it immediately. The first thing that stands out immediately is the design, it is very "typical" Beyerdynamic, very similar contour as the DT 990 Pro, but rounder and more elegant.

    Processing:
Nothing was spared in the construction material, practically everything is made of aluminum except the connector between the headband and shell mount is made of very sturdy plastic, without glue, screwed with two hexagonal screws. All openings are cut with precision, perfectly ground and thus has as a whole a finish of very high quality. Included are two pairs of interchangeable ear pads with different sound signatures and two sets of cables, straight and coiled. This is a headphone with which you can listen to music for hours every day for a decade and not break.

    Wearing comfort:
After marveling at the design and workmanship, I put the headphones on my head (after adjusting the length). As expected, it feels great around the ears as the pads are covered in velour and filled with soft foam material. The pressure force is very strong at first, but was the same with the DT990Pro and it eased up over time. The headband also has very good padding and does not press on the head. In wearing comfort I deduct one star because the pressure on the ears is initially abisschen too strong, but I also have a relatively wide head, I'm sure it will not be the case for everyone.

    Sound:
As info, I listen to music on a desktop PC, connected to an external DAC/AMP Creative G6, MusicBee as player and in ASIO mode.
I honestly don't even know how to describe the sound. As a blind test I immediately noticed how wide the soundstage is, everything sounded more open, bass is not enormous but clear and accentuated, never loses detail, same with mids and highs, the highs sometimes stick out a bit and might sound unpleasant for those who are more sensitive to highs, but compared to the DT990Pro no sibilance. This is a very neutral headphone, neither warm nor cold, and is especially strong on soundstage and detailed playback.
I tested various MP3s, ALACs, FLACs and even DFFs and DSFs, side by side with 4 other headphones and the DT1990Pro is by far the winner.
The other 4 are: (from worst to best sound)
    - Logitech G430
    - Steelseries Siberia 800
    - Creative Sound Blaster Zx
    - Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro
