ASUS support and repair service is really the last straw. I've now got the 3rd device and it's also faulty.
Before - picture makes a great impression, rich colours, good illumination, so basically a great thing. Especially when playing games like BF4, the widescreen is very good. The connection options are also sufficient and I find the design very successful.
BUT after my initial joy had vanished after an intensive day of gaming, I took a closer look at the screen. I discovered that the panel protruded from the frame on the top right and not on the left. Then I thought about returning it, but at this price and with the Asus name, you can assume that the workmanship is clean.
The first device was returned without any problems, was then sent to Asus by digitec and 10 days later I supposedly had a swap device standing in front of the door.
Unpacked, checked for faults and BÄÄM this time both corners were sticking out. So I packed it up again, returned it to digitec and sent it back.
3rd device arrived this Tuesday, I was not looking forward to it because the message said it was a swap device again. I unpacked it and it was the same old story again, this time one of the corners was back but the left edge of the middle was sticking out a bit.
Conclusion= Quality mega bad and the ASUS support even worse!
3rd device goes back today and I get my money back, but at this point a big thank you to digitec for the great service so far.

I have very mixed feelings about this monitor. The anticipation was great. But the first impression was very disappointing. Asus seems to have massive quality problems with this model. Where should I start?
The thing stands crooked on its stand.
The writing and colours are good, the factory setting is already usable but the illumination is extremely irregular. Some of the worst I've seen.
I'm not a gap fetishist, but when you see the back panel between the panel and the frame from the front, it's a bit severe.
The panel also "hangs" in the frame. At the top it looks out on the left and right, at the bottom it seems to be squeezed in. Depending on where the frame presses harder, the illumination is also different.
It was also clear to me that the sound from a monitor can't be a stunner. It's a disgrace for the brand name that good Bang&Olufsen speakers are installed. They are no better than cheap monitors for half the price.
Today I have to think about whether I can live with that. In 2013, when 50-inch plasmas are already available for just a little more money, 500 for something like this is an outrage. Maybe I've got a model that came out of the assembly line. I would appreciate feedback from other buyers. Unfortunately, I fear that an exchange will not bring any improvement and that this quality will continue throughout the entire production.
Addendum September 2015: Finally kept the monitor anyway and when I finally got to grips with the beschxxxxxx quality, the whole bar at the bottom also started to peel off and dissolve. The panel is now not only hanging crookedly in the crooked and mismatched frame with pressure points. The skirting board at the bottom has to be glued on again....

Fantastic IPS monitor with good bightness and color quality. It's design is very nice with a good build quality. I don't use the built-in sound system but I've tested it and I can approve it!
Reason I didn't gave it 5-Star is because I also play a lot of games and some don't support the 2560x1080 ultra-widescreen resolution. But still playable.
