I was just about to order the Arlo Q and then refrained from doing so based on the reviews of the Arlo app on play.google. I use a few 'cheap' cameras at home and thought to buy something 'proper', but what you read about the app... I'd rather stick with my 'China junk'. Question: does anyone have any recent experience with the overall functionality and usability of the Arlo Q systems? Has the app gotten worse? Does the company respond to customer complaints?

Hi Jpaulwolf, I have had the Arlo for about 2 - 3 years.
I don't know the current reviews regarding the app though.
I don't see any problems. Just download it. I think you can
have a look at it. I am still very satisfied with the system.
I used to have to unplug and plug in the cable from time to time.
But that is rarely necessary today. I'm happy with it, it's easy to install and handle.

Is the camera tropicalised? Can it be left outside without the risk of it getting wet?

According to the manufacturer, the camera is not weather protected for outdoor use (no IP65 rating). But according to some reviews on Amazon, the camera can also be used outdoors (but protected).

The Netgear Arlo, Set mit 1x Kamera (Outdoor) will be IP65 certified.
There is also a suitable mount

As far as I understand, this is the old model. It is no longer shown on the Arlo product list. The successor "Arlo Arlo Essential Indoor" costs only CHF 114 with the same technical specifications. So, if the old model is still available at all, it should cost considerably less than the successor in order to generate any incentive to buy.

Thank you very much for the input. Our prices are very dependent on various factors such as the delivery conditions of our suppliers. As we already source this model at a similar price, we cannot change anything about the price at the moment.
