Product details
The FP-DFC2 is the ideal choice in applications where a SPDIF source must be connected to professional AES/EBU audio devices. Three sockets are provided for the SPDIF input: Cinch, BNC and optical.
However, only one of these inputs can be used. The AES/EBU output is provided by an XLR connector. Operating voltage can be connected either through screw terminals or through plugs. The output is isolated by a transformer. The input signal is decoded and recombined in AES/EBU format. All header lines that are identical for SPDIF and AES/EBU standard are added to the output data stream. A blue LED indicator lights up when a valid digital input signal is converted to output.
A common problem with consumer and professional digital audio products is unpredictable latch-up when digital signals are connected or switched. The FP-DFC2's automatic Sure-Lok™ circuit monitors the most common causes of digital latch-up. If a latch-up error is detected, the receiver circuit is restarted so that the digital data stream can synchronize.
