The Ionic is a promising device. The fitness tracking is on-par with all Fitbit devices. I was very pleased with the heart-rate performance, the steps, etc. The design and finish of the case and screen are very good. The strap was comfortable. Unfortunately, I did not keep the Ionic for two primary reasons. First, the much anticipated Apps Store for Ionic still has not launched, so long after the initial product release. Without Apps for this device, it's not much more than a Fitbit Blaze with a face-lift. Second, I found that the Ionic could not maintain a useful connection to my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 phone. I found this to be a commonly reported problem on Fitbit support forums, with finally, no permanent solution. I got tired of constantly uninstalling the Fitbit app from my phone, restarting the phone, restarting Bluetooth, reinstalling the app, restarting the Ionic - all to get it to sync reliably for about a day, before finding it had lost connection and wouldn't reconnect using reasonable means (restart Bluetooth). I don't believe this sync problem is only an Ionic issue, and may be unique to my Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Not everyone seems to report such problems as I have experienced. The battery life is fantastic - I easily got 5 days between charges.
