    Without much foreplay.

    With restrictions (supplied software) recommendable for TimeMachine and MacOS

    Note when using with TimeMachine: The WD software and MacOS get in each other's way, provided the Mac is configured to enter sleep mode. After that, the disc can only be accessed after rebooting. The problem is solved by uninstalling the WD software. For details see this thread: community.wd.com/t/backup-fails-on-time-machine/187675

    • For a specific macOS product, it is unattractive when such incompatibilities occur.
