Seal joints yourself with the new sealants by Sista
Sista’s new sealants are designed to make sealing easy, even for beginners. Cracks in your bathroom, kitchen or outdoors? Sista offers a DIY solution for every part of your home.
Sealing joints used to be a task you’d get a professional to do for you. Sista has decided to change this with its new range of products, which are designed to simplify the sealing process and make it possible for everyone to do sealing jobs themselves. The colour of the product line stands for its application area: Blue stands for bathroom and kitchen, pink for indoor use and green for outdoor use. There are two packaging formats. The conventional cartridges fit all standard sealant guns. The smaller handy dispensers can be used without additional tools. These dispensers feature a clamp that makes it easy to press the sealant out evenly. The dispenser is small, so you can use it with just one hand and get to every corner. I tried it and was amazed at how well I managed to seal my very first joint.
The new products are available in two sizes per product.
Bathroom and kitchen
The blue packaging marks sealant that’s designed for warm and wet areas such as the bathroom and kitchen. It’s made of neutral silicone and includes extra mould protection.
Sealant in pink packaging is made for indoor sealing jobs. Acrylic technology makes this product perfect for repairing and renewing joints on windows and doors, and it can be painted over with most conventional paints.
The green packaging marks sealant for outdoor use and ideal for all weather-resistant jobs. It’s made of Flextec polymer and can be used on wet surfaces and in cold conditions thanks to its elasticity and durability.
Of course, having the right accessories at hand makes every DIY task easier. A scraper will help you remove the old sealant. For the classic 280 ml cartridges, you’ll also need a gun. Smoothing the newly created joint is done either with your finger and a little water, or by using a joint smoother.
