Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 – folds in half and is finally available
For the first time, a foldable smartphone is taking centre stage. Samsung has made it possible! I’m also switching from a conventional device to a Galaxy Z Flip3. The phone’s scarce availability has come to an end, and you can order your Z Flip without the wait.
I made the switch in August 2021 and swapped my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra for a Galaxy Z Flip3. Reducing my phone by half was a great choice, and I’ve been a fan of foldable phones ever since. Because of supply shortages, the Galaxy Z Flip3 was not available for a long time. But now you can order it directly from stock without having to wait.

The Galaxy Z Flip3 5G is also the third flip phone of its kind. What’s special about this phone is that it flips open horizontally. The Galaxy Z Flip3 5G is also equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, 8 GB of working memory and 128 or 256 GB of storage. When folded, the compact device features an outer display of 1.9 inches. Opened, it boasts a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with an adaptive refresh rate of 10 to 120 hertz. Each of the dual camera captures photos with 12 megapixels. As evident in the product name, the Z Flip is also 5G-enabled. The battery capacity is 3,300 mAh. the device is protected against water.
My Galaxy Z Flip3 highlights
I love the handy size of the Z Flip3. And it’s small outer display means I often don’t even have to bother flipping it open. To me, the Flip is primarily a lifestyle device. It’s different. It comes with handy and stylish accessories. In public, it doesn’t go unnoticed when I open and close it. People come up to me and ask me to give them a demonstration of the foldable display. Unlike previous models of its kind, this phone has mass appeal. It combines the right software with hardware functionality.
You might be wondering if you notice the kink in the display; the answer is yes. It’s also noticeable when you swipe. Visually, however, it’s not a problem. The OLED screen is bright, sharp, high-contrast and colourful. If you compare the Galaxy S21 Ultra and the Z Flip 3, the folding phone’s brightness is only marginally lower. In any case, it doesn’t bother me.
What else do I like about it? And why am I sticking to the Galaxy Z Flip for now? It’s waterproof. It’s slim. Snapdragon 888 delivers speed. The touchscreen’s response time is amazing. I can shoot selfies with the phone closed and a take calls over the speaker. The finger sensor is fast and at a perfect height for me. Unlocking the phone via facial recognition also runs smoothly. The only drawback: the battery is not particularly large at 3,300 mAh. Fast charging works with a maximum of 15 watts.
