I'd recommend the rower as a very pleasant and all-around go-to exercise for anyone doesn' like jogging outside in the dark. It's pleasant to work with and can be remotely controled via an app.

TL;DR: A very pleasant machine to work with. However, the price is not justified as the device has several small glitches which bring down the overall positive experience a bit.

PM5 exercise monitor is very flexible and offers interesting statistics, most valuable of which I consider burned calories for people trying to get their weight down a bit. In cooperation with calorie counting strategy it should help a lot, especially to people like me who do not really enjoy jogging outside when it is dark, rainy and generally Halloween-y :) The rower is not very noisy, so it should not disturb your neighbors, but you do hear it.

The best feature, according to me, is the connectivity. The ability to save your training progress to an USB stick and upload it to a PC or update the internal PM5 software (firmware) using that USB stick is very handy. What's even better is Bluetooth Low Energy (careful, this is not your typical Bluetooth so not all heart rate bands are compatible, especially not the old ones) which enables you to connect your rower with your Polar H7 heart rate measuring band instantly (highly recommended, don't buy it without one as you will lose one of the most important stats - heart rate). It also allows you to connect the device with a smartphone using a third-party app. I tried several ones, BoatCoach being the best one. It basically allows you to pick a training routine in your smartphone which then sync that plan with PM5 via Bluetooth, generates graphs and all kinds of fancy BS data you don't really need (unless you're a doctor or a mad trainer), but it surely looks cool. Overall, it's the flexibility which counts.

I rate very low the build quality of the stand. The holes are very poorly made, too close to each other and the counterpart, so you cannot mount it. This is the biggest drawback I found. Also the wheels are making a very annoying clicking sound sometimes. Tried WD-40, will see whether that helps.
