I have owned a Suunto D9, Suunto D4, Suunto Ambit 2, Suunto Ambit 3 and a Suunto Vector. I also owned a Suunto Spartan Sport Wrist HR before owning this device.
What I love about Suunto devices in general is their dependability. I have tracked hundreds of workouts over the years ranging from hiking to scuba diving, from cycling to skiing, parapente and more. In those hundreds, if not thousands of hours of tracking I have never been let down by the watch.
I got the Suunto Spartan Wrist HR Baro watch because I wanted the fused alti mode. I also wanted wrist monitoring because when you're hiking with a group of people you don't always want to pull up your shirt, place the movesense tracker and start an activity. This is also true of climbing.
I have used this specific watch for hikes of up to five and a half hours and bike rides of up to five and a half hours. This watch performs well for both sports.
Recently I got the Suunto bike sensors for cadence and speed and they work well together.
On the backend of a workout I like that I can sync from the watch directly to movescount and from movescount to Strava and Sportstracker. Syncing between movescount and Strava can sometimes take a while. When I was using the Suunto Ambit two and three my ritual was to sync the watch to movescount once i got home. After a physical day this was frustrating. With bluetooth that step is removed.…mehr
